	The 1957/58 season was the 85th season of competitive football in Scotland and the 61st season of the Scottish Football League. High scoring matches saw United recover from relegation the previous season to finish 5th in the second division. A superb 7-4 win over Forfar Athletic and a 6-0 over Berwick Rangers set them up for good finish.
